Prague is the gay capital of Central Europe with its stunning fairy-tale architecture and stunning men with their “Bel Ami”. The city has a wonderful compact old town with charming restaurants offering the best cuisine. And the gay district of Vinohrady is just a short taxi ride from the centre.
The city of Prague is perched upon the Vltava river and was the home of the first university in Central Europe. During this time of culture and art Prague underwent a transformation with the building of Prague Castle and the famous Charles Bridge.
The city is beautiful, blending styles from all of the major art movements, from Baroque to Art Nouveau.
Prague’s old town is a charming collection of narrow streets, authentic stores and hidden taverns. Although there is no single gay district in the city, most of the gay bars and clubs are located in the Vinohrady district. Monthly parties such as OMG and Lollypop take place during the first weekend of every month and are very popular. There is also quite a cruisy underground club scene with regular fetish parties, saunas and sex bars such as Drakes busy all year round.
Prague gay pride takes place every August and has become one of the city’s biggest gay events attracting visitors far beyond the Czech Republic. Other notable events include the annual traditional Christmas Markets which see the city transformed into a Winter wonderland.
